We will be helping build a house on February 18th, 9am-4:30pm with Habitat for Humanity in Commerce City on Olive St, just north of I-70.

We have reserved 20 spots, and we’d love to fill each and every one of them!

A few basic guidelines are as follows:

  • We do require that all volunteers commit to working the full day from 9:00-4:30.
  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age
  • We provide all tools, hardhats and safety glasses but you may bring your own if you prefer (no personal power tools, please).
  • Volunteers are asked to bring a sack lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and wear sturdy/closed shoes.

The attached file has more information, including the REQUIRED waiver that you should fill out and bring to the build site. Please show up a little before 9 am as there is a required safety orientation to participate that day.

Please let us know if you’ll be able to help build a home by February 10th.

If there are any questions, please feel free to let us know at fungs@denverpres.org

I posted this link on Facebook. Hoping my friends will see it and want to participate too!

Thanks Amanda!

I wish we could do it, but Luke and I will be out of town. Hope it goes well!

I would really like to do this but don’t think I have the strength yet.  Hope it goes really well.

I’m attempting to recruit some friends outside the church as well.  For now though, it will just be me.  I’ll let you all know if that changes.  Looking forward to it!

I sadly lost the drawing on which Connors adult would attend (someone needs to watch those peeps!), but I really encourage anyone to go if they can.  I went on a build in Commerce City a couple years ago and it was AWESOME!!  I nailed on the roof!  (And it’s still attached as far as I know!) And definitely invite friends – great opportunity for them to “connect” with others from DPC while making a difference.

due to my preggo condition, i’ll be missing out on this opportunity.  HOWEVER, I am happy and willing to babysit another little one over here all day so a mom and/or dad can participate. our home isn’t too big so i can’t watch a whole brood of kids, but 1 or 2 would be fine. let me know if you need me :)

Comptons are IN! Sorry to be last minute. Our weekends are grad-school pending! :) PS- I’ll bring my own hard hat! Do we need a handful of earplugs? Safety!
